what we might do if we had the resources

What more might librarians be able to bring to Public Health if we had the resources - feel free to add big or small ideas....

1. a searchable list of public health interventions and/or initiatives happening around the UK (or internationally) with detailed information on how effective they were, how much they cost to implement, what the intervention was and how it was evaluated.  This would be quite time-consuming to do.  BMJ Health Intelligence (now defunct) has started a list that is worth a look: http://healthintelligence.bmj.com/hi/do/projects/home

However, this might be a valuable source of 'grass-roots' health information.  Or, it could function as a service that allows information specialists to support the 'evidence' base for public health research, which is traditionally quite thin.  Perhaps public health practitioners could register their projects with us (okay, maybe we aren't talking about a wiki anymore) and we'd provide the searching and information expertise.  It's just an idea, but in practice it could be quite amazing.
